He devoted himself to his duties with zeal, but to his surprise, his illness recurred, and he suddenly suffered a cerebral infarction. Confused and full of complaints, he struggled to understand why God hadn't bestowed grace on him but instead allowed calamity to befall him. Through seeking the truth, he gained some understanding of his intention to receive blessings.
