He also said to a sister who had accepted God’s end-time work, “Don’t believe in it anymore. If I am wrong, I will pay my life for yours.” Afterward, he often deceived his people and hindered them from accepting the end-time work of Almighty God. On February 16, 2000 (during the Spring Festival), when Hu was preaching, he suddenly went red in the face and shivered all over. On seeing this, a sister quickly stepped forward to support him, and he collapsed into her arms. When the other people gathered around, Hu was already unable to speak. He took out a ball pen from his pocket, and after he wrote “I am dying” on the left hand of the sister, he lost his consciousness. The brothers and sisters carried him to the bed and prayed together for him, but to no avail. Then they sent him to the hospital for intravenous drips, but the medication could not run into his vein.
