01The alarm bells for the last days are ringing—how can we seek God’s footsteps?

Disasters are happening frequently all over the world, with earthquakes, plagues, floods, famines, and more coming one after another. The wars are escalating, and turmoil is growing in the world. All of this perfectly fulfills the Lord Jesus’ prophecy: “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows(Matthew 24:7–8). It’s clear that we are now in the last phase of the last days and the time has come for the Lord to return. So how can we be the wise virgins who seek God’s footsteps and welcome the Lord’s return?

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears My voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

The Lord Jesus said, “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet Him” (Matthew 25:6).

The Lord Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: And I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand” (John 10:27–28).

“These are they which follow the Lamb wherever He goes” (Revelation 14:4).

“He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 2:29).

02The Lord Jesus has returned and spoken, bringing us the way of eternal life

Two thousand years ago the Lord Jesus prophesied: “Behold, I come quickly(Revelation 22:7). The prophecies of His return have now been fulfilled, and He has returned as Almighty God, Christ of the last days. Almighty God expresses all truths to purify and fully save mankind, and He has brought us the way of eternal life. In order to keep pace with the Lamb’s footsteps, we have to welcome the return of the Lord and accept the truths expressed by Christ of the last days, Almighty God.

The Lord Jesus said, “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:12–13).

The Lord Jesus said, “And if any man hears My words, and believes not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects Me, and accepts not My words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:47–48).

“And I saw another angel fly in the middle of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters” (Revelation 14:6–7).

03The easiest mistake to make in welcoming the Lord

The Lord Jesus said, “This people draws near to Me with their mouth, and honors Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me. But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men(Matthew 15:8–9). These words expose those who believe in the Lord but do not heed His words or submit to Him. Instead, they just claim to believe in the Lord while in their hearts they adore and follow people, follow others’ teachings, and put human words into practice as if they were the Lord’s. For example, when some people hear testimony that the Lord Jesus has returned and expressed many truths, they do not seek or investigate this, but just wait for their pastors to decide. Is this the way to keep pace with the Lord’s footsteps and gain His approval?

“We ought to obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29).

“For the people turns not to Him that smites them, neither do they seek Jehovah of hosts. Therefore Jehovah will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honorable, he is the head; and the prophet that teaches lies, he is the tail” (Isaiah 9:13–15).

“Why the Lord said, For as much as this people draw near Me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor Me, but have removed their heart far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the precept of men” (Isaiah 29:13).

The Lord Jesus said, “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch” (Matthew 15:14).
