138. The Principles of Treating Leaders and Workers Who Have Committed Transgressions
(1) Leaders or workers who pursue the truth but have committed transgressions should be treated correctly. They should be helped lovingly, and must not be attacked, condemned, or ensnared;
(2) If newly cultivated leaders or workers contravene work arrangements by doing the work as they wish, this should be resolved by fellowshiping the truth to them, and dealing with and pruning them;
(3) Leaders and workers of superficial experience who have committed transgressions, yet are worthy of cultivation, should be supported and helped lovingly and made to enter truth reality;
(4) If they do not genuinely repent, leaders and workers who have committed serious transgressions that have caused great detriment to the work or property of God’s house must be replaced.
Sermon and Fellowship Excerpts for Reference:
As mankind is too deeply corrupted, everyone, before they are perfected, has committed transgressions, revealed corruption, committed mistakes in fulfilling their duties, or even walked the wrong path. This is an accepted fact. However, God’s house gives all leaders and workers a chance to repent no matter how they have transgressed, as long as they pursue the truth and have the work of the Holy Spirit. As long as they have good humanity, and can admit their mistakes and transgressions, have true remorse, and sincerely repent, God’s chosen people should accept, believe and approve of them, and treat them correctly.
The majority of leaders and workers that are produced through democratic church elections are suitable, and only a small few cannot actually do real work. Leaders and workers can be grouped into three types: The first type clearly have the work of the Holy Spirit and are completely qualified; the second type can do some real work but commit some transgressions and reveal some corruption; the third type cannot do real work and do not have the work of the Holy Spirit. God’s chosen people should learn to discern these types of leaders and workers. God’s chosen people can only expose and report the third type—false leaders and workers who cannot do real work and do not have the work of the Holy Spirit—and have them replaced in their duties. The second type—leaders and workers who can do some real work but who commit some transgressions and reveal some corruption—should be treated correctly and be assisted with a loving heart; they must never be attacked, condemned or framed. There are but few of the first type—leaders and workers who are completely qualified and have the work of the Holy Spirit. These people are the most precious and God’s chosen must protect them, not allowing anyone to attack, condemn or frame them. Currently, there are too few suitable leaders and workers in God’s house. The majority are the second type, those who can do some real work but commit some transgressions and reveal some corruption. As most leaders and workers have not experienced much serious pruning and dealing or major trials and refinements, it is normal for them to commit transgressions and reveal corruption, and this does not mean they are bad or wicked people. God’s chosen people should treat them correctly. Assisting them with a loving heart is most important, because right now, the leaders and workers who can do some real work are already pretty good. Transgressions and revelations of corruption can completely be resolved through fellowshiping about the truth, and through pruning and dealing; these people must never be attacked, condemned, or excluded, nor must they be casually replaced or eliminated. As long as they are people who pursue the truth and have relatively good humanity, God’s chosen must protect them, and not let wicked people get something on them or arbitrarily attack, condemn, or frame them. As long as a leader or worker who can do some real work has good humanity and pursues the truth, they can certainly be saved and perfected. This is for sure. Only those whose humanity is malicious and who can commit all manner of evil are wicked people who should be banned and removed. No one has the right to keep badgering leaders and workers who have already admitted, regretted and truly repented for their past transgressions and erroneous ways. If someone dwells on these things and refuses to let them go, and continues to fiercely pursue the matter, then this may be regarded as making trouble out of nothing, personal retribution, and attacking, framing and condemning leaders and workers. God’s house certainly will not allow such things to happen. If a wicked person is found to be unreasonably badgering a leader or worker, the matter must be investigated and handled seriously. The church has the right to segregate or expel wicked people who intentionally attack or frame leaders and workers.
—Work Arrangements
God’s chosen people ought to understand how to treat leaders and workers at all levels of the church. They must be able to distinguish good from evil and discern whether leaders and workers are people who pursue the truth. These are fundamental abilities God’s chosen people should possess. If we see that a leader or worker is a good person who pursues the truth, but has committed some transgressions or done something wrong, we should treat them correctly and help them with love. We absolutely must not seize upon these mistakes or transgressions to condemn them, arbitrarily label them, and be so heavy-handed as to just beat people to death with a stick; to do so is to falsely accuse and harm others. Good people have also committed transgressions and have sometimes made mistakes, but good people can repent and change. So, no matter what transgressions you find good people have done, or what mistakes they have made, as long as they can accept the truth, come to know themselves, and repent, then they must be assisted with love. If a leader or worker is a good person who pursues the truth, and someone seizes upon a transgression they have done and will not let it go until they have destroyed that leader or worker, then is that not oppressing them and making them suffer? This is no different from false leaders and antichrists making people suffer. God’s chosen people should not make others suffer, and leaders and workers should even less so make others suffer. God’s chosen people should correctly treat leaders and workers, and leaders and workers should correctly treat God’s chosen people. We should all treat each other fairly, and aid one another out of love. This is the course of normal human relationships, as well as a sign of entry into truth reality.
…………
God’s chosen people should treat the leaders and workers at all levels of the church in a manner based on the truth and holding to the principles. They should support, uphold, and cooperate with leaders and workers who are in accordance with God’s will, and who can resolve problems and do practical things for God’s chosen. They should patiently help those leaders and workers who pursue the truth and have the work of the Holy Spirit, but who may have transgressed and not achieved ideal results in their work. God’s chosen may criticize and rebuke them, as well as prune and deal with them, but are not allowed to condemn or frame them, much less casually banish or remove them. They must act based on the truth and according to principle. In the case of leaders and workers who have not completely lost the work of the Holy Spirit and who can still do some practical work, God’s chosen people must never treat them as false leaders and false workers. They should only offer help out of love, and support them with patience. This is the responsibility of God’s chosen people. If leaders and workers who do not pursue the truth and do not have the work of the Holy Spirit do not wish to repent, neglect their proper tasks and act recklessly, they must be removed and banished. Only through these practices can God’s work be protected and the church life kept safe from disruption. This is beneficial to the carrying out of God’s will, as well as to the life entry of God’s chosen people.
—Work Arrangements
How exactly should God’s chosen people treat leaders and workers at all levels? Currently, there are only a minority of false leaders and antichrists among the leaders and workers at all levels. Although the majority of leaders and workers have weaknesses, reveal corruption, or have once taken the wrong path, and have made some transgressions, as long as they are willing to repent and have the work of the Holy Spirit, God’s chosen people should assist them with love, and allow them to repent, understand, and walk the correct path. This is the responsibility of God’s chosen people. Do not seize upon some small mistake or transgression in the hope of toppling someone; that would cause harm and suffering, and it is a satanic disposition. Being perfected is no simple matter. During the process of being perfected, one must undergo many failures and reveal much corruption, but as long as one pursues the truth, then success is guaranteed in the end. Some leaders and workers are dauntless as they experience God’s work. They do not despair no matter how many times they fail and fall, and they remain resolved in their pursuit. They do not give up pursuing the truth as long as a shred of hope remains to them, and such people as this will surely attain salvation and be perfected in the end, without a doubt. … Therefore, even if some leaders and workers are replaced for not being able to perform real work, we shall not hate them, but must think of ways to help them, so that they can repent and pick themselves back up to keep on pursuing the truth; such actions accord with the truth and with God’s will. If someone should be replaced for not being able to perform real work, then they must be replaced. Conclusions must not be drawn about them, however, but rather a path must be left to them. This is something people with conscience and reason should do; it is your responsibility, and it is the love you should possess. If that person continues to walk the wrong path, then you may expose them, reproach them, and impose restrictions on them. But if they then embark upon the right path, then you must support and help them. If you think that they previously walked the wrong path and they may possibly continue to resist God in their duty, and you constantly impose restrictions on them, then this is wrong. Should they wish to do some real work for God’s chosen people and perform their duty well, but you are restricting them, then is that not wrong of you? Would that not make you no different from a false leader or antichrist? Therefore, avoid extremes of action, do things in accordance with the truth principle, treat people fairly, and do not cause other people to suffer. There are some leaders and workers who are replaced who then blame God and hate God. Such people are devils, and we can have no sympathy for them. If they do not blame God, but are able to truly repent, hate themselves, and offer a formal apology to God’s chosen people, then would you still add insult to their injury? You must show them some sympathy, approach and help them with love, and respect them and comfort them, so that they may once again walk the right path. This is what someone with humanity should do.
